TENZ is a winegrowing partnership between the Eddy Family and single vineyard grape grower Chris Simmonds. Lone Gum vineyard is one of Marlborough's pioneer vineyards originally planted in the mid 1970's. Lone Gum Vineyard has produced grapes for wines which have received 84 gold medals and 15 Trophies since 1998. Tom's goal was to modify Kiwi stereotypicity and add his own stylistic preference of lightness and drink-ability to the typical fruit forward Kiwi Sauvignon. This was accomplished with careful changes in winemaking and viticulture methods more typical for Napa Valley, including picking late with slightly longer hang times and extended fermentation time.
