Details

  • WE: January 1, 2013, Paul Gregutt A toasty streak of espresso-flavored richness marks this single-vineyard offering. The fruit is ripe and clean, with a tart red-berry flavor at the core.
  • WS: Harvey Steiman Sleek and focused, with jazzy, mint-accented raspberry, sassafras and espresso flavors, pointing through refined tannins to a long and expressive finish. Drink now through 2018
  • Burghound: September 10, 2012, Allen Meadows The high-toned and very pretty red pinot, raspberry and cherry aromas introduce delicious, intense and admirably pure medium-bodied flavors that offer fine depth and length on the dusty, firm and mouth coating finish. Like all of the wines in the range I strongly suggest decanting this for at least 30 minutes. Drink 2016 +
  • WA: every bit as bright as its 3 Vineyard counterpart, featuring sour cherry, red currant, and wild woodland strawberry with not just a tart edge but an incisively pungent and invigorating suggestion of radish. That said, there is a polished feel here; decent buffering for the acids; and the intimation of perhaps a richer patina to come. Smoky black tea overtones and an undertone of multi-boned, marrow-rich meat stock serve for interactive strands of flavor in a vivacious and sustained finish.
  • IWC: July 1, 2012, Josh Raynolds Vivid red. Fragrant scents of candied red berries, anise, woodsmoke and sassafras. Deep, darker fruits on the gently chewy, nicely focused palate. Bright cherry and spice notes carry through a long, gently sweet finish. This promising, very young wine shut down in the glass..
