In 2009 I chose to use fruit entirely from Two Coyote vineyard in Zillah, located in the Rattlesnake Hills AVA. It was picked at 24.8 brix and spent 22 months in oak, about 20% new American barrels. There was 5% each of Cabernet Sauvignon and Merlot added as well. 160 cases were made at 14.2% alcohol. Gold and Best of Show 2012 NextGen Wine Competition San Francisco. Wine Spectator: 87.
